How can I speed up or slow down the rate of the videos?
You can change the speed of a video. Doing this will mean your child with hear Liz speaking slower or faster, depending on your preference.
Watch this video demonstration where Andrew will show you how you can add a button. Once added, every video within the program can be changed to suit your preference.
Which web browser is best to use?

Can I access the program on more than one computer/tablet?
Yes, the program is accessible from any computer (PC), Mac or internet-enabled device (iPad/tablet/phone).
• Simply bookmark/create an internet favourite for the login page so your child can easily navigate and login to the program – at home, school or anywhere else. You can easily swap from one device to another, log in and be on your way, just as you were!
Can more than 1 child access the program?
Yes, please contact us outlining your children’s name(s), we’ll create the additional accounts for you and email you the login details.
Does my child have to start as soon as we’ve joined?
No, your child may commence the course and tutorials when they are ready. The course or program will not expire.
How does my child get started?
First, as a parent, guardian, teacher or tutor, you need to watch the Getting Started video which will explain that you need to sit with your child for a few moments to answer the questions in the ‘initial assessment’.
• Answers provided during the initial assessment will determine the correct course for your child’s ability. The program will be tailored accordingly and only the necessary tutorials will be displayed. This is to ensure gaps in your child’s learning are filled.
• After completing the initial assessment, your child/student will be added to the right course for their ability. Your child/students starts with the first tutorial in Level A and works their way down.
How do I ensure my child completes the program?
The most important part of the next 2 months is ensuring your child/student gets into a routine to do the program.
• Once logged in, please be sure to watch the two videos. They explain how to use the program. Sit with your child/student to do the initial assessment to start them on the right course.
• After the completion of the initial assessment, your child/student will be placed on a level for their ability and will be ready to start!
Which course is my child on?
To see which of the 4 courses your child is on, click View My Profile.
Can my school use the program?
Yes, up to 5 students can be on the program, all for the one low price. For more than 5 students, we have a school licence. To find out more, contact us.
Can I change my username?
Usernames cannot be changed. Only an account’s password can be changed.
Can I change my password?
Yes, you can change your password. Passwords must be at least 6 characters long.
• To change your password, click View My Profile.
Then, click Edit My Profile. Type your new password twice and click the Update button.
Alternatively, contact us and outline what you’d like your password to be. We’ll change it for you.
Can my child re-sit the initial assessment?
Yes, we can reset your child’s account. Please contact us.
Note that your entire account will be reset resulting in any tutorials that have been marked as completed will be changed back to incomplete and any completed quizzes will be reset (scores will be reset).
Can I add my other children/ additional students?
Yes, please contact us outlining your children’s name(s), we’ll create the additional accounts for you and email you the login details.
Can I cancel my account?
Yes, please contact us.
How does my child navigate through the program?
To ensure your child is put onto the right course for your child’s ability, he or she needs to first complete the initial assessment.
You child simply works their way from the top of the list, starting at Level A and works their way down, through each tutorial in each level.
Every tutorial consists of a video, worksheet and quiz.
Help me to understand the program structure
Tutorials are placed into levels (Level A to L). The levels simply allow the course to be broken up into smaller chunks, so your child does not have one list of 330+ videos on one webpage. Levels also allow you and your child to easily see where they are up to.
With a couple of exceptions, the tutorials are typically ordered sequentially. Where this is not the case, this is done for specific reasons.
• You child simply works their way from the top of the list, starting at Level A and works their way down, through each tutorial in each level.
• The course content consists of:
– Phonics tutorials
– Words and spelling tutorials
– Punctuation and grammar tutorials
– Read-along book tutorials
– Sing-along song tutorials
– Inspirational interviews
– Tips for life tutorials
• Every tutorial, no matter which one, consists of a video, worksheet and quiz.
Can my child skip a tutorial?
Yes, tutorials can be completed in any order and referred to if and when needed.
What happens at the conclusion of a tutorial?
After your child has watched the video, used the worksheet (either viewing it online or in printed format, if you have a printer) and complete the quiz:
• your child is able to mark the tutorial as completed,
• tutorials cannot be marked as complete if a quiz has not been completed in it’s entirety.
How long are tutorials?
Typically speaking, each tutorial is approximately 10-12 minutes in duration. Some Inspirational Interviews however, may go longer as this was the nature of the interview.
How long do I have access to the program?
Normal access to the program is for 3 years, unless stated otherwise in your Welcome email.
How long does the course go for?
The program is self-paced and there is no set time to complete the tutorials, or the course.

How many quizzes are there?
There is a quiz for each tutorial, no matter whether it’s phonics tutorial, words and spelling tutorial, punctuation and grammar tutorial or a read-along, sing-along, inspirational interview or tips for life tutorial; they each have a quiz. Each quiz has four questions.
How does my child/student commence a quiz?
Below a tutorial’s worksheet, you will see that tutorial’s particular quiz.
Click into the green space to launch the quiz.
Can my child listen to the quiz questions?
Yes, click the triangle play button to hear the quiz question.
How does my child submit a quiz answer?
Depending on the question, your child may need to click/select, drag and drop or type an answer.
To submit the answer, you child needs to click the Next button.
Can my child change their answer to a quiz question?
Only if the quiz hasn’t been finished in its entirety, can your child go back to a previous question and make a change.
Click the Back button to see the previous question and then make the change.
Can my child repeat a quiz?
No, once a quiz has been taken, your child hasn’t got the ability to retake the quiz. This is to ensure your child isn’t resitting the quiz multiple times, in order to achieve 100%.
You may contact us to request that we unlock a particular quiz. This will enable your child to take retake the quiz once. Parents are able to request that quizzes be turned off for an account. Doing so will result in no quizzes showing for any tutorial.
How can I see my child’s quiz results?
Once logged in, click View My Profile.
The quiz writing (font) is too difficult to read (cursive type font)
The font that the program uses is called Chalkboard.
If you have a font appearing as anything other than the chalkboard font, please click here.
Video navigation
To play a video, click the triangle in the middle of the video.
How long is the video?
This example of a video that is 10 minutes and 56 seconds total duration.
Below is an example of a video that has been playing for 2 minutes and 43 seconds
How do I pause/resume a video?
Click/press with your finger/mouse anywhere in the middle of the video as it is playing. This will pause the video. Repeat, to resume video.
How do I fast forward/rewind a video?
Drag or click along the bar to place the video to the point you wish to watch the video.
How do I make the video bigger?
Use the full screen button to expand the video. Press the escape button on your keyboard to minimise the video.
Why are the videos too slow?
• If your computer is using wi-fi, you’re best to turn it off and use an Ethernet (blue or yellow) cable.
• Streaming videos over the internet will always be slower if you’re connected wirelessly to the internet. If you’re using an iPad, tablet or phone, close any apps that are connected to the internet.
I can’t hear the video/quiz audio
Go to www.youtube.com and see if you can hear a video.
If you can’t, check that the volume controller is up and whether you have headphones plugged in.
If you can hear audio via YouTube but not the program, please contact us.
I click a video but the page I am being sent to is not the intended page
Your web browser cache needs to be cleared.
To clear your cache, it is different for each web browser.
• Do a Google search such as, ‘how to clear web cache in xyz’.
Replace xyz with he particular name of the web browser you’re using.
Example, ‘How to clear web cache in Google Chrome’, ‘How to clear web cache in Safari’, ‘How to clear web cache in Mozilla Firefox’ etc.
If this does not fix the issue, please contact us.
Missing tutorials
Please watch the introduction video on the Member’s Homepage.
The videos explain that, depending on your course, not all tutorials are in sequential order.
• Answers provided during the initial assessment will determine the correct course for your child’s ability and therefore, only the necessary tutorials will be displayed for your child to complete.
• You child may or may not see all of the tutorials which is why it might seem at first appearance that some tutorials are missing. If you’re still unsure, please contact us.
How does my child access the Read-along Books?
In each level, your child will be able to read chapter by chapter the various read-along books.
To access the read-along book in it’s entirety along with the relevant tutorial, click on the silver Read-along Books button from the Member’s Homepage.
• Select the book and the ‘Back Cover Of The Book Text’ will be displayed underneath.
• Click the green Continue button to launch the relevant tutorial.
Can my child be read to?
Click to start the video and hear the story being narrated, from start to finish.
Use the full screen button to expand the video. Press the escape button on your keyboard to minimise the video.
How can my child obtain the text for the books?
To see the text for the story, click the blue writing.
Another window will open allowing you to download/print the text.
How do I return to the homepage?
Click the yellow Member’s Area Home Page to return to the page to access the Levels and their tutorials.

There are 4 different courses. Course 4 is for a child with less gaps in their learning. Answers provided during the initial assessment will determine the correct course for your child’s ability.
• To see which course your child is on, click View My Profile.
We can reset your child’s account which will enable him/her to re-sit the initial assessment.
To have your child’s account reset, please contact us.

Strategy – if your child is finding the program too easy
Sit with your child and together, review the worksheet. If your child understands the worksheet content and is confident he/she would get 100% on the quiz, skip him/her forward.
If, on the other hand, your child does not feel as though he/she understands the content of the worksheet and would not be able to pass the quiz with 100% accuracy, he/she should go back and view the tutorial video.
We can reset your child’s account which will enable him/her to re-sit the initial assessment. To have your child’s account reset, please contact us.

The program is aimed at children aged 6 or 7 years old up until mid to late teens. If you have concerns about your child being too young, please contact us.

How can I see my child’s progress?

How do I see my child’s quiz results?

How do I see the quiz questions and answers?
After a quiz, click on the View Questions to see what the question was, the answer your child provided and whether the answer was correct or incorrect.
How does my child mark a tutorial as completed?
At the completion of a quiz, there will be an opportunity to mark the tutorial as ‘completed’.
• Once completed, a green circle will appear in the list of tutorials on the Member’s Homepage.
• Completed tutorials will be reflected on the My Progress page.
Can my child repeat a tutorial?
Yes, even once a tutorial has been marked as completed, your child is able to re-visit a tutorial as often as required.

What happens after my payments have stopped?
Even once you have completed all your payments, you child will continue to have access to the program. This way, the program can be referred to as often as needed, throughout your child’s school years.
What gifts does my child receive?
Approximately one month after commencing the program, you will receive a pack in the mail. Please refer to your welcome email from Liz as to the pack’s contents.
Other gifts are emailed and include links to various downloads such as additional inspirational videos, posters, gifts your child can give to others to explain their difficulties and so on.
Where do I get the posters?
When you registered for the program you should have received an email titled, Welcome to The Ten Minute Tutor from Liz Dunoon. The email contains links to the program resources and the private Facebook group. If you need a copy of the email, please contact us.
